For as long as I can remember, I’ve worn shirts that have a habit of riding up or low-rise pants that slowly come down and expose my back. Even if it’s just a little bit, I can feel it, and I get uncomfortable. This is especially true since I’m a nerd who enjoys tucking everything I own into whatever bottoms I wear (I’ve been roasted for tucking a tank top into some leggings — whatever). When I was a teenager, if any of my back was exposed when I was sitting down and my mother could see, she would come behind me and lightly scratch that open space of back as if to say, “Maintain your dignity, please and thank you!”

While I’ve resorted to high-rise pants to help with this, I found a new remedy to my issues in the form of an on-trend style: the bodysuit. Sure, bodysuits have been around forever, but the new crop of bodysuits from a wide variety of brands have a lot more personality than the long-sleeved ones and tank versions we wore growing up. (But they’re still as tough to unfasten during a bathroom run as you remember.)

As far as brands go, Tobi came to the rescue for me. The online shopping site for women offered me the chance to try on quite a few bodysuits, because the popular retailer has a slew to choose from. Here are a few that I tried (all in a size L) that you should definitely give a shot this summer. And while I preferred them all with pants and skirts, feel free to jazz up your ensembles however you see fit. Also feel free to jazz up the poses you take in these bodysuits, because as you will see, I keep it pretty Sears catalog when compared to Tobi.
