Just yesterday, my mom was trying to have a “last days” conversation with me, in regards to the chip they’re trying to start inserting in people. I can’t ever participate in “last days” conversations because I’m young, I have a lot more life to live and I’m just not trying to hear that. I feel like it’s people who’ve already lived their lives who say such things. If my mother wants these grandchildren, she better pray these days hold off a bit.
But everyday, watching this current administration wreak havoc on the problematic country we love, I can see how she and so many others could come to such a conclusion. There’s a lot of evil in high places.
Today, Donald Trump, the man this country and Russia elected as president of the United States, tweeted a new military mandate.
Y’all. This is not a drill. It’s real life. What’s laughable is that as Donald Trump and his administration do its best to “Make America Great Again,” they are actually doing everything in their power to threaten every single freedom on which this nation was founded. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion with the Travel [read Muslim] ban, and now he’s attempting to defy the notion that all men are created equal, one of the most beautiful thoughts to come out of this country with his latest violation of civil rights.
This country has been moving slowly toward complete inclusion in the military. As many have noted on this very day, the military was racially desegregated in 1948 by President Truman. Clinton had the very backwards “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy which allowed gays to serve as long as their sexuality was hidden. In 2016, under President Obama, Defense Secretary Ash Carter, ended the ban on transgender people serving in the military. But there was a year-long review with the Pentagon to see how these individuals should be properly integrated into the armed forces.
Last month, Defense Secretary James Mattis announced he was delaying enactment of the plan.
Then today Trump tweeted.
I don’t have to tell y’all this is some foolishness, a regression, an attempt to undo everything that President Obama accomplished during his presidency, a denial of humanity.
Thankfully, so many people, elected officials and regular folk saw it as such and shared their thoughts.
