Black Panther doesn’t come out until February 2018, but ever since the first teaser was released in June, people have started counting down the months and days until the film is actually released. The buzz behind it was so big after we got our first glimpse at Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and the nation of Wakanda that the hashtag #BlackPantherSOLIT started trending. With that excitement guaranteed to stay “lit” until next winter, it only makes sense that Entertainment Weekly would go behind the scenes of filming and obtain some exclusive shots of the cast. Boseman and co-stars Michael B. Jordan, who plays Erik Killmonger, and Lupita Nyong’o, who plays Nakia, are featured front and center on the magazine’s newest Comic-Con preview issue:
It gets better from there, though. The exclusive shots from the set are actually even better than the cover. We get to see everyone in their element, in full costume and makeup, looking like the Black royalty they are. And while we know that Jordan’s character of Erik Killmonger is a supervillian, according to director/co-writer Ryan Coogler, it’s going to be pretty hard for viewers to figure out off top who’s good and who’s bad.
“In this movie, a lot like politics, it’s a little tricky to define who’s [a good guy],” Coogler said to EW. “The film very much plays with those concepts, looking at conflicts and different motivations, and who’s with who.”
