7 Makeup Removers That Will Make Your Life So Much Easier At Night
Can we all agree the worst part of wearing makeup is taking it off at night? It’s the reason dermatologists have to repeatedly warn against the dangers of sleeping in makeup and (gasp) touching it up in the morning, which is just nasty in my opinion. But I can’t front like I haven’t slept in a face full of MAC, Make Up Forever, and Nars and had to pay for it the next day, not to mention the next week (hello breakouts!)
Nowadays I don’t play those games, and, to be honest, there’s no reason to. With the new breed of makeup removers on the market, scrubbing, scraping, rubbing, and plying makeup off at the end of the night is no longer the case. It took me a long time to adapt to the new regime but I’m so glad I did. From cleansing cloths to cleansing oils and one tried and true multi-tasking product every single one of you should already have at home, here are 7 makeup removers that will make life so much easier at night.
This is not just an overpriced washcloth. The polyester-blend of this cloth removes your most waterproof mascara and matte lipstick with just a couple swipes. And its soft and gentle on the face. Just wet the cloth, wipe, and follow up with your regular cleanser and you’re good to go.
My new favorite, this cleanser comes in gel-like form and melts into an oil as you massage it over your face. The third transformation comes when you add water to the oil and the cleanser takes on a milk-like form that you simply need to rinse with warm water.
These is my travel makeup remover go-to. I know that if I do nothing else after a long night out but wipe my face with these exfoliating cloths my skin will be good in the morning.
Another remover that serves two purposes. Enriched with Jojoba Oil, Aloe and Cucumber, as a makeup remover it gently rids your face of all traces of makeup as it conditions skin. Add water and the oil turns into a milky cleanser. No residue or greasy feeling is left on skin after rinsing.
An oldie but goodie, if you have nothing else in your medicine cabinet, we know you have Vaseline. Take the extra minute or two to apply to eyes and wipe eye makeup off with a tissue so you aren’t harshly scrubbing your skin — or burning your eyes — when cleansing.
You.do.not.have.to.beat.your.skin.up.to.remove.makeup. and this luxurious cleansing oil from Josie Maran proves so. It’s the smoothest thing I’ve ever put on my skin and truly melts away makeup as it hydrates. This is another product you can add water to to double as a cleanser.
Whenever I’m with my MAC MUA bestie, I “borrow” her wipes. They’re perfect for gently getting rid of makeup to ensure your face is completely clean after washing with your favorite face wash.
