Since I was 14 years old I worked proactively to figure out an effective skin regimen. With a mixture of hormones, puberty, and a poor diet, I realized that what I put in my body (as well as on it) was changing my skin’s appearance. One day when I was on the school bus, a few kids made fun of my acne and I went home feeling dejected and unattractive. I then noticed that my face was breaking out in bumps and patches and I decided to figure out how to combat my skin issues.
After sampling several facial cleansers and moisturizers, I realized that using Noxzema’s Sensitive Cream, eliminating sodas from my diet and strictly drinking water were the most effective. I also made sure to wash my face at night and give my face a gentle scrub once a week. After a few months, I noticed significant changes in my skin.
Fast forward 10 years, after an annual trip to visit an old friend in Ithaca, NY — where the air is just as fresh at the food — I discovered the best facial toner ever! After taking a shower at my friend’s house, I ventured into her bathroom cabinets (don’t judge, I’m a nosy friend and I own it) and noticed Thayer’s Rose Petal Toner. I had never used a toner before so I figured, why not? I grabbed an organic cotton ball and squirted a generous amount onto its surface. After wiping my face a few times I noticed all of the dirt trapped in my skin. Yuck!
Despite cleansing my skin religiously, I could not believe that my face was still “dirty” after previously washing it. Although what was captured in the cotton ball was probably deeply trapped oils, I was alarmed by what I was missing. That night I ordered two bottles of toner and have not looked back since!
The best thing about this toner is its ingredients. Because I have sensitive skin, I love that it is alcohol-free and infused with rose petals. The sensitive formula is great for my fickle skin and leaves me feeling like I took a trip to the spa. Add this toner to any self-care regimen and enjoy the effects.
