When Cam Newton isn’t busy trying to put together a colorful outfit sure to leave everyone talking, he’s busy adding to his family. According to People, the Carolina Panthers quarterback is going to be a father yet again.
The 27-year-old NFL star and longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor are expecting their second child. The couple just had their son, Chosen Sebastian Newton, less than a year ago. Chosen will turn one on December 24. This new little one is due soon, though, as Proctor showed off a full baby bump 11 weeks ago:
Newton’s parents are the ones who broke the news to NBC’s Charlotte affiliate while accepting an award in their son’s absence. The star’s father, Cecil Newton, told a reporter, “We are excited.”
His mother, Jackie Newton, added that “It’s going to be a giddy time of the year for us.” She said that with her grandson’s name being Chosen, she’s unsure of what name Cam and Kia are planning to bestow upon their newest child. Whatever they choose (no pun intended), the family will be ecstatic.
“I have no idea what this one’s going to be called, but we’ll be happy,” she said.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
