The Outtakes From Solange’s “Cranes In The Sky” Video Have Us Wanting Another One

If you ask me, A Seat at the Table is one of those rare albums that you can listen to straight through. But with “Cranes in the Sky,” being the first single from the project, it’s getting quite a bit of radio play. And it was one of two songs from the album that received a video treatment, thanks in large part to the help of her husband, music video director Alan Ferguson.

And while we dig the “Cranes in the Sky” video, as it exists today on YouTube, the latest images Solange has been sharing on her Instagram page are making a couple of us, including Solange’s mother, want to see another cut, another edit, another video. Check out the images that didn’t make it into the final music video on the following pages.

From the looks of this picture, we’re imagining that there was also some pretty sick choreography to go along with this incredible dress.

We remember this young lady in another portion of the video but these citrus colored outfits were missing.

Clearly, Solange took the adventurous route in some of these other shots. we’re hoping the reason this shot didn’t make it, isn’t because she busted her a$$ standing in the middle of that running river.

Love the hair in this shot.

If you have some time today, you’ll notice in the comment section that Mama Tina commented about how dangerous this looks.

Another water shot that fell by the wayside.

Is it just be or are certain shots from the video and the monochromatic color palettes reminding you of the Emerald City scene in The Wiz?

Love this one.

Red eyeshadow is ris-kee. Far too many times it makes women look sick. But I like it here.
