On the same exact day that Donald Trump met President Obama at the White House and received his “counsel” in order to set up a smooth succession, the Cleveland Cavaliers also visited the White House. President Obama welcomed them to congratulate LeBron James and Co. on bringing the 2016 NBA Championship to Cleveland. Not only did the team and coaching staff get to be present and take a tour of the historic home on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but their partners did as well. Enter Teyana Taylor.
The singer, who is having a pretty outstanding 2016, showed up alongside husband Iman Shumpert (no Junie this time, though). While he was busy being in awe of everything President Obama did (including having his podium moved) and doing the mannequin challenge with the First Lady, Taylor was inside making quite the statement. In a burgundy pantsuit with an afro wig on, she took a picture in Center Hall where the First Lady portraits are located. She stood in front of the portrait of Hillary Clinton, who you know was captured in her signature pantsuit, and paid homage to both Clinton and Angela Davis, who she modeled her look after.
She looked amazing, and showed respect to two iconic women. The day before, Taylor shared an image of a crying Davis with the pictures of men and women who were victims of police brutality to share her dismay with the results of the election.
