“It Takes An Emotional Toll On You”: Kenya Moore On Trying For A Baby For The Last Five Years
Kenya Moore’s quest to be a mother has been a very public struggle over the past few years. Issues with infertility have even been used against her by her adversaries, including Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Phaedra Parks. A few seasons ago she called Moore an “old beauty queen with scrambled eggs.” With there being rumors about whether or not she was pregnant earlier this year, Moore talking openly about her hopes to have a child on the reality show, attempting to do in vitro fertilization, and falling in and out with boyfriend Matt Jordan on social media, some have wondered where things stand with her plans for motherhood.
“I’ve been ready [for a baby] for at least five years,” the 46-year-old told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution about her hopes for a baby and what viewers will learn about it in the newest season of RHOA. “There have been a couple of bumps in the road with the donor situation, with relationships. It keeps taking turns. I’ve been in a long-term relationship for over a year and a half. I’ve had some reservations moving forward with my partner. I will touch upon that.”
Moore continued, telling the publication that she sometimes wonders if she should even go forward with trying to have a child at this point. “I have a reason for pause. As a woman of a certain again, do you want to be Halle Berry or Janet Jackson?” she asked. “Do you have to have a kid later in life? It’s different now. Medical science makes it possible. But there’s also that emotional aspect. My life is pretty good. Do I want to change everything and become a mother? It takes an emotional toll on you just trying to figure it out, seeing myself with children.”
