Report: Mariah Carey And James Packer Are Over

October 27, 2016  |

Mariah Carey is well on her way to having a love life like Elizabeth Taylor. According to recent reports, originating on the Australian site Woman’s Day, Carey and her fiancé James Packer are no longer. Apparently the billionaire casino mogul is the one who ended things with Mariah.

An alleged close family friend told Woman’s Day, “It’s all over. James had huge reservations about Mariah’s new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world.” The source also claims that Packer’s family has had reservations about Mariah ever since he started dating her last year.

They reportedly took issue with the fact that Mariah couldn’t make James’ sister’s 50th birthday party in Sydney earlier this year. And his mother has never really connected with her.

“When she refused to come to Australia for Gretel’s birthday party, it created a lot of tension in the family. His mum hated to even hear her name mentioned, and James’ tight circle of friends never really thought they would marry.”

The rumors of their breakup started to swirl when Mariah began devoting so much time to her upcoming reality show. Because of the show the couple allegedly have not been able to spend time together in recent months.

But according to this source, it’s not just the reality show. Money is also a factor. James’ money and how much of it Mariah is spending, to be specific.

The source said, “James is very generous but Mariah takes it to the next level.”

Reportedly, James has turned to his first wife for support. And Mariah was recently spotted with Nick Cannon as the two parents took their children out for Halloween.

The couple met when James, who has been a longtime fan of Mariah’s music, met her after one of her Las Vegas shows. Carey said that the two fell head over heels in love with one another.

But things soured when James’ intentionally and historically private lifestyle was going to be potentially exposed on the reality show.

Who knows. We’ll have to see how this one plays out. Whatever happens, we’re sure Mariah will find a way to bounce back.
