Earlier today, one of our faves, Lupita Nyong’o announced that she would be appearing on Spike Tv’s Lip Sync Battle. And as if that weren’t enough, the pot was sweetened when we glanced over and saw who she would be competing against. Another one of the friends in our head, Regina Hall! In honor and anticipation of what will likely be an epic performance, we’re listening some of our favorite Lip Sync battle performances. Check them out. And if you see your favorite is not on the list, be sure to tell us in the comment section.

Gina Rodriguez- “A Milli”

Who would have ever imagined that our sweet and innocent Jane could turn up and wyle out like this? You can tell from the look on Wilmer’s face that he might have thought he knew, but he had no idea.

John Legend- “Slow Motion”

When they announced that John Legend would be performing a Juvenile song, I just knew it was going to be Back That Thang Up. The fact that he chose the less popular and more sensual “Slow Motion” made me respect him on an entirely different level. “That outside d*ck keep them h*es sick” is one of the greatest lines ever written.

Channing Tatum- “Who Run The World (Girls)”

You know we couldn’t create this list without including Channing Tatum’s epic performance featuring Beyoncé.

Jenna Dewan Tatum- “Pony”

Tell the truth y’all, if Channing hadn’t brought Beyoncé out on stage, Jenna would have won this battle easily.

Anthony Mackie- “2 Legit 2 Quit”

Anthony mackie has been known to make some questionable comments. But he redeemed himself ever so slightly with his performance of MC Hammer’s “2 Legit 2 Quit,” wardrobe change and all.

Joseph Gordon Levitt- “Rhythm Nation”

Not to be outdone, Mackie’s opponent, actor Joseph Gordon Levitt, followed up that stellar performance with one of his own. He killed Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation.”

Samira Wiley- “OPP”

First of all, it’s good just to see Samira on our screens again. But she also murked this performance of OPP. She has the swag and the choreography down. And the end didn’t hurt at all.

Emily Blunt- “No Diggity”

I don’t think I realized, until decades later, how much cross0ver appeal Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” had. And so I’m always delightfully tickled when I see a White girl singing all the words to the song. Plus, extra points to Emily for rapping Queen Pen’s part.

Anne Hathaway – “Wrecking Ball”

After “No Diggity,” I was sure that Emily Blunt had it. But I have to admit that Anne pulled out all of the stops for “Wrecking Ball.”

Amber Tamblyn, “I Wanna Sex You Up”

As a fan of the Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, I was elated to see these two back together again. What made Amber’s performance stand out over America’s was the fact that she dressed as Donald Trump to perform Color Me Badd’s “I Wanna Sex You Up.” Her performance was complete with staged sexual assault which made it all the more hilarious…and sad if you really think about it.
