Mary J. Blige Takes Heartbreak Head On With New Single “Thick Of It”
After filing for divorce from her husband Kendu Isaacs after 12 years of marriage, Mary J. Blige has been quite the topic of conversation, but she’s not telling the publicity hold her back.
With the documents filed but the date of separation listed as “to be determined,” the R&B chanteuse has been hard at work on her upcoming album Strength of a Woman. And as many of us know, when it comes to Mary, she unloads all of her baggage on wax, making for some great classics that continue to inspire and motivate today whether it’s finding a new love or escaping hateration.
On Thursday, Blige released the first single from the LP entitled “Thick Of It.” Penned by fellow songbird Jazmine Sullivan, the track is an infectious powerhouse ballad about finding your center even when you’re knee deep in a less than perfect situation.
“What a hell of a year/If I make it through the hell and I come out alive I got nothing to fear,” she sings.
Yes Mary, we feel you girl! Press play and get into this new joint from the Queen of hip hop soul, and let us know if you’re feeling it, too.
