An Interracial Relationship + Deranged Parents = Get Out, The Perfect Psychological Thriller

Psychological thrillers aren’t exactly my favorites. I’m more of a light and easy, romantic comedy type of girl. But introduce race into a thriller and you’ve caught my attention. And that’s what’s going down in the trailer for the upcoming film Get Out. 

Written and directed by Jordan Peele, one half of the very successful comedy duo “Key and Peele,” the story follows Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and Rose (Allison Williams). The two have reached the point in their relationship where it’s time for Rose to introduce Chris, her Black boyfriend, to her White  parents.

Initially Chris regards the family as overly accommodating. He assumes they may be nervous trying to process their daughter’s interracial relationship. But it’s not long before he recognizes that something far more grim is happening?
