According to ABC News, Betty Shelby, the officer who shot and killed Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week, was charged with first-degree manslaughter.

The District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said during a press conference.

“We reviewed the facts of the allegations, it is our responsibility to determine if the filing of a criminal charge is justified under the law. In the matter of the death of Terence Crutcher, I determined that the filing of the felony crime of manslaughter in the first degree, against Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby, is warranted. Officer Shelby, although now charged, is presumed to be innocent until a judge or jury determines otherwise.”

CNN reports that an arrest warrant has been issued and arrangements have been made for her surrender. Multiple police cameras, including ones in the squad car and the helicopter, captured the fatal shooting. In the videos, Crutcher can be seen with his hands raised above his head prior to his death. He walked away from Shelby towards his car.

None of the video showed whether or not Crutcher’s window was open or closed.

There was no weapon found in the car.
