If you’re a woman who has made the decision to go natural after years of wearing your hair chemically straightened, you know that referring to that transition as “a journey” is not Black women just being dramatic. And while some Black women do take the “natural hair movement” a little too far, the idea of learning to accept your hair as it grows out of your head naturally is not an easy process, particularly with society’s beauty standards.

And Quiinta B, of BuzzFeed, must know this life firsthand.

In a recent video for the media company, titled “Quinta vs. The Perm,” we watch as this young woman is tempted by a box of relaxer just as she’s contemplating what to do with her hair once she takes the braids out.

The box tells her, “You know how much easier I’d make everything? There’d be no more suffering, no more heartache…When you go to sleep at night, there’d be no twisting your hair so you can get a good night’s rest…No more broken combs, so much wasted money. No more shrinkage. THat’s right. Your hair will stay the same length from when you watch it to when you dry it.”

Watch how Quinta responds to this very appealing offer in the video below.
