Curated by New York City-based photographer Bryon Summers, the WE LOVE YOU project is a photo series highlighting Black men, of all ages, taking back their image from the distorted world of media. By simultaneously serving as an alternative form of protest, the WE LOVE YOU project is set to portray how men of color can “inspire a change relevant to this time period.”
In its press release, the WE LOVE YOU series plans to bring “powerful reassurance to Black boys and men that even though it feels like [they] are being murdered and destroyed constantly, [they] are still a part of a larger community that loves and supports us.”
After a successful launch in New York with 165 male participants, the WE LOVE YOU project is looking to branch out to other cities. If you’re interested in participating or staying up to date with how the project evolves, sign up at TheWeLoveYouProject.com and follow the hasthtag on Instagram.
