In Need Of A Getaway? Here Are 2016’s Best Budget-Friendly Summer Travel Destinations
Between school being out, graduates collecting their hard-earned degrees, and the warm weather flourishing, it’s definitely summertime alright. And with the sunny season here, everyone is scrambling to figure out the best summer getaway.
According to Adobe’s latest Digital Index Summer Travel Report, Americans plan to spend nearly $83 billion — an increase of 5.5 percent since 2015 — on hotels and flights booked online during the warmer months. But, it’s actually reported that people’s travel budgets will actually take a dip this year by almost 20 percent — from $2,788 in 2015 to $2,239. So, of course, you’ll still want to take a trip somewhere, but you’ll probably want to do a little more research on popular vacation spots give you the most bang for your buck.
Well, Wallethub has got you covered. The personal finance website analysts compared the 80 largest metro areas to identify the most wallet-friendly and Instagram-worthy summer destinations. Using a data set of 30 key metrics ranging from “cost of the cheapest flight” to “number of attractions” to “diversity of activities,” they were able to rank the best summer travel destinations.
