Signs You’re (More Than) Ready For Summertime
It’s been a long, cold and rainy spring for a lot of folks throughout the country. Chances are you’re more than ready to usher in the summer season and all its warm, fantastic glory. You’re excited for longer, sun-filled days. Refreshing, fruit flavored cocktails. Poolside lounging. Concerts, BBQs, and festivals. The beach has been calling your name and you can’t wait to finally pay it a visit. Clearly, there’s no shortage of activities and the list of summer magic goes on and on. So say goodbye to spring and usher in summer 2016 because it’s almost here. Here are some sure signs that you’re (more than) ready for the summer and all that the season has to offer.
Some lotions, oils, and fragrances are lighter and softer than others, i.e., perfect for summertime. Whether they’re cucumber, citrus, or floral infused – you have them all and can’t wait to spritz a few drops on your skin.
Plus, you’ve got mani/pedi appointments lined up and a date with your eyebrow lady.
Not that you need any reminders, but you have the first day of summer circled, highlighted and saved as an alarm clock on all of your calendars. You’re probably even planning to throw a party that day.
Your Instagram and Pinterest are filled with images of jumpers, maxi dresses, sandals, sun hats and outfits you can’t wait to rock. Not to mention a list of locales you want to see this summer.
Whether it be a trip with your girls to Essence Fest, a Caribbean getaway or any destination in between, you’re counting down the weeks and days (probably down to the millisecond) until your much-needed vacation.
Your version of spring cleaning solely involved moving your jackets, sweaters and other cool-weather clothing to the least-traveled section of your closet or dresser to make way for your summer clothes.
You’ve already invited yourself to BBQs with TBD dates. You can’t wait to get your hands on some hot links.
Festivals And Concerts
The music gods know there’s no better season than summer for a good turnup, and so do you. Attending music festivals is like summer camp for adults.
A Good Summertime Playlist
Speaking of music, you already have your summer playlist on deck.
If you’re ready for summer, you don’t want to use let alone hear the words “sweater,” “jacket” or “umbrella” for a looong time. Still, you keep one of each with you begrudgingly until temperatures peak over 80 degrees.
Your mouth waters at the mere thought of a strawberry daiquiri (or any of its alcohol-related cousins). Some drinks really are perfect for summer consumption.
You’re not exactly on the prowl for a summer fling, but if it were to happen, you won’t turn it down.
