We’ll be reunited with our favorite Litchfield prisoners when “Orange Is The New Black” season four officially makes its return to Netflix on Friday, June 17th.
Earlier today, a trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season was released, and judging by the looks of it, things are about to take a turn for the worse—not that season three ended on a high note or anything.
As may recall, Piper’s criminal enterprise pretty much came crashing down when members of her panty operation began to pocket some of her money—including her lover, Stella, whom she had sent to a maximum security prison as payback for her disloyalty. In fact, Piper’s newfound crime boss status caused her to make quite a few enemies last season, and now it appears that she’ll be forced to deal with the consequences of her actions. Maria Ruiz, who has managed to stay out of trouble since we were introduced to her, tearfully vows “bury” Piper in the sneak peek.
Litchfield Prison’s new for-profit status also presents a new set of issues for the prisoners. The brief 2-minute trailer clearly communicates that the lighthearted presence once felt at the facility has been replaced by something heavier and darker.
