We’ve heard of mood-changing nail polish, scented nail polish, and even edible nail polish which is interesting — odd — but interesting. But are you ready for finger tips that taste like chicken? If you are, KFC has the recipe for you.
Moving beyond serving edible goodies in the kitchen, the chicken chain has launched a line of nail polishes in Hong Kong as part of a marketing plan to get more consumers in their store. Available in just two shades — or flavors — the KFC collection comes in Original which is a nude shade with specks of glitter and a sparkly orange color known as Hot & Spicy.
According to Anna Mugglestone, marketing and communications director for Ogilvy & Mather Group in Hong Kong, the agency running the Finger Lickin’ Good campaign, “It tastes like chicken. It’s crazy. I don’t know how they do it,” she told the New York Times.
Even more interesting is the polish was made in partnership with McCormick & Company — yes the same McCormick most likely in your cabinet and that makes the tasty secret spices for KFC’s chicken.
The polishes won’t be available until the second half of this year at the earliest and, unfortunately, it’s only for KFC fans in Hong Kong. But judging by how bizarre this concept is, that might not actually be such a bad thing.
