I Don’t Give Sips: Good Reasons To Be Squeamish About Sharing

When you’re squeamish about sharing, you’re used to getting shaded about it. Family members give you the side-eye when you won’t share a sip of your drink with them. Friends look like they feel some type of way when they ask for some chapstick, and because you don’t trust that their hands are clean, all you have to offer them is “I’m sorry, but no.”

But before you feel bad about your impulse to keep your things to yourself, read on. Some things it’s better not to share — unless you want to open yourself up to some pretty gross consequences. From sexually transmitted diseases to bacteria that really shouldn’t be swapped, sharing these items is a major no-no.

So the next time someone gets temperamental about wanting to touch your stuff, let them read this list. They may believe in swapping, but it’s better for everyone if they get their own.
