Red Alert: 7 Things to Keep in Mind When Your Period Comes
Pick up Ibuprofen, NOT Aspirin
Not everyone wants to spend their dough on Midol, the saddity pain reliever with the over-the-top commercials. If you’re one of those folks who’d rather not, but your cramps are too hardcore to go without medication, go for ibuprofen as opposed to aspirin. Aspirin, while helpful with most pain problems, is not a good look for a woman on her period as it is usually used to make your blood thin. Thinning of the blood can make your menstrual bleeding last longer, plus it can cause stomach discomfort during your period. Ibuprofen is the way to go boo: Advil and Motrin are helpful, and don’t feel ashamed to go for the good ‘ol generics!
