Red Alert: 7 Things to Keep in Mind When Your Period Comes

Working out helps cramps to the nines…
It’s true! For those out there that are lucky enough to have their periods come on a more regular basis (though irregular is the norm, right?), you can save yourself a lot of pain (and a sick day) by getting small workouts in in advance of your period’s arrival. Nothing over the top, a little bit can go a long way. A run on the treadmill, some work on the elliptical machines, or taking walks rather than picking up public transportation and driving to run errands will work MAD miracles. Work out a couple of days before your period drops and trust, your cramps will not be as big of an issue as they usually are. If you’re a regular gym rat, they’ll be pretty non-existent. Working out after your period has already started can of course still help relieve a lot of the pain of cramps, as well as rid you of some stress.
