When relatives initially offer to contribute way more than they can actually give

When relatives offer to contribute initially, it is a great gesture of affection and couples can often begin to count on that money coming in to cover certain expenses. While it can be frustrating when they are not able to give more financially, this is where the couple is going to have to have empathy and understanding for the person, and give the benefit of the doubt that their relative is doing their very best to contribute within their means. The couple may have to adjust their plans, take some items off the list and modify their budget (which can be totally annoying, I feel you) but in the end, it is less about the money and more about keeping the connection and integrity of the relationship. Don’t let a financial setback get in the way of your closeness with them.
