Why Tyga’s Reaction To Blac Chyna’s Engagement Was Perfect

I’ll preface this article by saying that I’m not a Tyga fan, and I do not agree with many of his choices. However, what I am a fan of is growth, maturity and learning to take the high road—especially when children are involved.

The way that things unfolded between Tyga and his ex-fiancée, Blac Chyna, was unfortunate. And I’m sure there was a lot of pain involved. Plenty of pettiness ensued after he went public with his relationship with Kyle Jenner, who is the younger sister of Chyna’s former friend, Kim Kardashian. Overall, it’s just a messy situation. And things got even messier when Chyna forged a romantic relationship (and eventually, an engagement) with Kylie and Kim’s brother, Robert. However, it’s their messy situation that should be sorted out in private.

Considering the tit-for-tat game Tyga, Kylie and Chyna have been playing since the disintegration of Tyga and Chyna’s relationship, news of Chyna’s engagement could have turned the pettiness up a notch. He could have taken advantage of the fact that people were waiting for a reaction from him to bash or throw shade at his child’s mother. He could have questioned the validity of her relationship with Rob. He could have added fuel to the fire and given the media another story to run with. But instead, he chose to do this:

Whether his words are a true reflection of how he feels or if he’s harboring some resentment, this was honestly the best public response that he could have to this situation. But hopefully, he really does feel this way. Hopefully, he is actually happy to see his child’s mother in a good place. And hopefully, going forward, every adult in this situation can work together to make the best out of the aftermath of the decisions they’ve made and create the best environment for the child caught in the middle of all of this. Hopefully.
