Getting the fashion industry to understand white isn’t the de factor color has been challenging in more ways than one, but we’re happy today we can celebrate a victory on that front. Christian Louboutin has expanded its nude collection from five colors to seven, now ensuring everyone on the spectrum can find a shoe for their shade or “meticulously match your skin tone” as the collection’s description states on the site.
The new colors are Nude No. 1, a shade described as “porcelain,” and then Nude No. 7, detailed as “deep chocolate.” Of course your pockets will need to be equally deep as the new line of shoes that debuted with these shades are quite a pretty penny, even if they are flats — a first for the nude collection. The Solasofia shoe shown in the photo above retails for a pricey $595, but hey, if you got it, flaunt it. Louboutin told The Huffington Post of his latest addition:
“The nude collection is dedicated to people who want to have great legs, to have a great silhouette, not necessarily to emphasize the shoe. If you look at the shoe, it looks good, if you don’t look at the shoe, if you don’t see the details, it’s all about the legs; it’s all about the person. It’s great for when you are just thinking of yourself, when you’re not thinking of being dressed. It keeps you undressed in a way.”
Hmmm. It might be cheaper to just go naked.
