Popcorn Love: The Peanuts Movie Out Now On DVD
“The Peanuts Movie did it! The quality and production surpassed my expectations from every possible angle. From visuals that cover the rich Midwest landscape of the film to the playful beat of the characters – The Peanuts Movie is a memorable masterpiece for my (and hopefully your) home collection!
The animated touch of The Peanuts Movie is so delicate. The overall ‘underdog rises to the top’ story line is just as stable and safe for all ages – including my son, Kannon Ball, who is a 6 year-old movie critic at heart. All I can say is – with my DVD in hand – that I never saw an animation so carefully crafted for the big screen!” – Kay Hudson, Madamenoire / Mommynoire
On that note! Are you ready to dream big with Charlie Brown and the beloved Peanuts Gang, which includes Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, and Peppermint Patty? If so, here is your moment to keep the historic Peanuts characters alive with the amazing digital HD, Blu-Ray DVD release of The Peanuts Movie!
Kids grab your popcorn! You can watch The comical hit over and over with your siblings and friends!
Fun Fact: The critically acclaimed and Golden Globe Award nominated film was directed by Steve Martino, who spent nearly 3 years researching the Saint Paul, Minnesota neighborhood where Charles M. Schultz, also known as ‘Sparky’ used to reside. Martino also spent a great deal of his research time at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California – home to The Peanuts comic pieces. Mr. Martino had a strong and supportive team to help with his vision of what The Peanuts Movie should be – the executive production crew include, but are not limited to: Animation Supervisor, Nick Bruno and Art Director, Nash Dunnigan.
To celebrate the home DVD release, I took a tour of Blue Sky Studios (a part of the Fox Studios division) in Connecticut to meet with the production team and the hilarious voices behind the dynamic Peanut characters.
Take a peek at my itinerary:
Starting the morning off with the Fox Home Division crew! I was so excited to meet with the team behind Charles M. Schultz classic comic turned big screen hit! We discussed what the day would look like – a studio tour loaded with tons of photo opportunities.
Welcome to the Blue Sky Studios lobby!
The studios are a dream come true. The creative energy rushed through the building. Our first hour was dedicated to a warm welcome breakfast in their conference room. Guess who I stumbled upon:
Yes, ‘Mar Mar’ Walker, who plays Franklin in The Peanuts Movie!
After breakfast and quick pics, we met with Director Steve Martino, so we could chat about his signature role in The Peanuts Movie. We also caught a wonderful presentation from Art Director, Nash Dunnigan and Animation Supervisor Nick Bruno. They spoke about the production process of taking The Peanuts gang from strip comics to the big screen!
After the presentation, we met up with Rigging / Lighting Character Development Supervisor, Sabine Heller so she could share her daily duties! Making an animation is a lot more complex than I could ever imagine. Good Grief.
After chatting with Sabine, we met back with the press team to learn how to draw ‘Snoopy’! The instruction was led by the Director, Steve Martino!
Thanks Steve for autographing my first and final attempt at Snoopy!
Look above! That’s Omega Schultheis, who plays Peppermint Patty!
After a full day of meeting with The Peanuts Movie production team, we settled down to a round table lunch with the talent of the movie and just discussed how they were selected for the film and some of their most memorable moments during production!
