When you’re looking to get your jog on, it’s hard to make space in your jacket or exercise pants for your cell phone, your keys, and whatever other things you deem essential. But one woman has created a sports bra that is making room for something unexpected but very important–protection.

A mother of two, Jennifer Cutrona told a Richmond, Virginia Fox affiliate that after being attacked while jogging on a trail last year, she decided to take action to protect herself, and other women. So, check out the self-defense bra, the “Booby Trap.”

After her attack, Cutrona sewed a sheath into her sports bras so that she could hide a knife to protect herself. And when she realized that she would be able to get support while also being able to guard herself in case an attacker decided to get froggy, she patented the bra. She also created more than one option. If wielding a blade is not your forte, there’s also a bra in her “Booby Trap” line that can hold a can of pepper spray. (The spray reportedly comes in a blue dye that will help police find your attacker if he takes off–since he’ll look like a Smurf reject.)

The Just in Case Knife Bra sells for $54.99 while the Just in Case Pepper Spray Bra is available on her website for $49.99. However, the knife and can of spray are sold separately on the site.

Cutrona said that she didn’t make the bra to get you to start slashing and spraying any and everyone who looks suspicious to you. But rather, she did so in case someone wants to start something they won’t be able to finish.

“It wasn’t done out of fear, to live in fear,” she told Fox’s WTVR, “it was done just to be prepared just in case.”

What do you think of the idea? And how do you try to look out for yourself when going for a run alone?
