When it comes to skincare, there’s many beauty myths claiming to end your skin woes. But how far would you go?
In the market for blackhead-free skin, ladies? You know, those black, pesky and pretty nasty small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles. Whether you get these inconveniencing breakouts on your face, back, chest, neck, arms or shoulders, one thing that we can agree on is that they’ve got to go.
For myself, I choose to tackle blackheads with an extraction tool. But of course, everyone has their own method. Recently, I came across a beauty vlogger who decided to put a beauty myth for easily removing blackheads to the test. In a YouTube video, Huda Kattan explained that craft glue is said to be a DIY way to remove blackheads efficiently. Interesting.
If you’re giving the side eye to Kattan, don’t worry I did too. However, the vlogger shared with her millions of followers that the glue she used was “non toxic.” In the video, she tries out the glue, exclaiming that it worked better than her usual Boire strips. Nevertheless, I’m still not too sure just how safe applying glue on your face is, especially for those with sensitive skin that’s prone to breakouts. Personally, I think I’ll stick to exfoliating gloves, an extraction tool, a little bit of a deep pore cleansing scrub and water to combat blackheads.
What about you?
