Whoever said smoky eyes weren’t meant for the springtime clearly hasn’t been paying attention to fashion week runways this season.
Last week, Versace’s couture collection, commonly referred to as Atelier, presented a fabulous runway show during Paris Fashion Week. With a gamut of impeccable frocks and sportswear pieces ranging from classy and chic to edgy and daring, the Italian fashion house decided to take on a very sophisticated makeup look to complement the garments.
Renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath sent models strutting down the catwalk with fresh faces and defined smoky eyes. McGrath opted for a lighter swatch of smoky, mixing shimmer onto the eyelid for a playful and feminine twist to the powerful look, making it perfect for the approaching season.
On Instagram, the MUA gave her followers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at just how she created the look. From her own Pat McGath Labs makeup line she used Phantom 002, which includes both Black 002 eye gloss and Black Caviar gel liner, blending to perfection to execute the sexy look.
Ladies, what do you think? Will you try this shimmery smoky eye for springtime?
