While the President and First Lady and global superstar Beyoncé are usually the ones inspiring others with their leadership qualities and actions, one brave young girl has actually inspired them this holiday.
Safyre Terry, 8, was a victim of a 2013 arson fire that took the lives of her father, sister and brother. Terry suffered severed burns that covered over 75 percent of her body. However, despite such a traumatic occurrence, Safyre is a real survivor, using her experience ever since to inspire victims of domestic violence and children in homeless and abuse shelters.
Well, this holiday season, Terry’s aunt posted to social media her one request for holiday: Christmas cards and gifts to spread joy to those less fortunate. Safyre’s request went viral with over a million people sending in cards and gifts, including one from the First Family and Beyoncé, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Beyoncé’s special delivery included a handwritten note, a Flawless T-shirt and a light up headband, TMZ shared. “To My Survivor Safyre! You are such an incredible inspiration. Have a beautiful holiday,” the superstar wrote to Terry.
It’s definitely nice to see many spreading the holiday cheer to others this year.
