Holiday party season is officially here. Office parties, ugly sweater gatherings, and dabbing SantaCon crawls are all going strong. And seasonal cocktails are everywhere, too. Enjoy them with no worries by wearing a long-lasting lipstick.

But am I the only person who tries to leave the perfect lip stain on the edge of my glass? If you do too, take a look at some of these lippie and cocktail pairings for your own “I Was Here” signature lipstick shade this season.

Champagne

Plum makes for a great contrast with the golden glimmer of a glass of champagne. When doing your eye makeup, try a flash of a deep, red or purple in the crease of the eye. And try a soft, near-sheer lip shade like Hibiscus Luxe Lip Color by Bobbi Brown.

Holiday cocktail tip: Boost your bubbly with a swizzle stick of rock candy or drop in a few mint leaves and raspberries.

Gin & Cranberry Ginger Fizz

Streak a little Mochalicious Megalast Lip Color by Wet n’ Wild on your lips. This color is creamy, won’t dry your lips, and stays put, even after a few empty glasses.

Holiday cocktail tip: Use frozen cranberries in place of ice cubes. Or freeze berries inside of ice cubes.

Rosé

Bold, matte fuchsia lipsticks like MAC’s Heroine bring out the girly, playful aura of Rosé wine. Use a glittery gloss to bring out a bit of reflects on the center of the lower lip.

Holiday cocktail tip: Dip the rim of each glass into pink edible glitter for an extra special shimmer.

Candy Cane Martini

Hot pinks like OOC’s Lip Tar RTW in Anime create a fun color combo with the festive colors in a peppermint-flavored martini. And bonus—this lippie is vegan!

Here’s a holiday cocktail tip: Have a few handfuls of dark chocolate candies ready to complement the flavor of the peppermint. Don’t forget the candy canes!

Red Wine

Bolder is better in this case. If you’re feeling brave, go for a blackberry shade to hide a blotchy, wine-stained mouth. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil in Blackmail will do the trick.

Holiday cocktail tip: Flashback to college with red wine jello shot cupcakes. Insert them into mini cupcake wrappers and top with cream cheese frosting.

Cranberry Sangria With Cranberry Vodka And Red Wine

Shades of coral bring up happy feelings with this winter-inspired take on a summer cocktail favorite. Add a high-gloss shade like Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Sweet Grapefruit by Milani on the lip to complement your sangria.

Holiday cocktail tip: Don’t forget to add the oranges and the mint leaves! Or, use rosemary as a festive garnish in place of mint.

Hot Buttered Rum

Dark chocolate matte lipsticks and liners are the look of the season, and they pair well with a warm, rich beverage. Go all out with a brown smoky eye to match. Use Iman Cosmetics Perfect Lip Pencil in Cocoa to achieve full coverage.

Holiday cocktail tip: Top this traditional winter cocktail with chocolate shavings. If you’re feeling extra naughty—and, frankly, who isn’t—drop a few chocolate chips in the bottom of your glass before pouring.

White Wine

Bring some edge to a prim and proper party drink with an unexpected lip color. Dive in the deep end with a dark teal like Make Up Forever’s Artist Plexi-Gloss in Beetle. White wine won’t be for the tame after this look.

Holiday cocktail tip: Serve cinnamon baked pears and apples as a tasty, complementary treat.

Spiked Apple Cider With Whiskey

Go golden with a soft gold lipstick. Matte is on trend, but gold is making a major comeback. Test this look with a lipstick like Molten Bronze by Black Radiance. Create a halo highlighted effect by completing the look with bronzed cheekbones, collarbones and forehead.

Holiday cocktail tip: Add a little caramel sauce to the inside of each mug for a soothing sweet flavor. Or, skip the whiskey in favor of Hennessy if that’s your thing.

Salted Caramel Eggnog

Have fun with tradition. How you celebrate is your choice. Test drive Atomic Orange, a blazing tangerine by Bobbi Brown.

Holiday cocktail tip: You can pair your glass of eggnog with both a variety of lipsticks, and a variety of spirits—vanilla vodka, spiced rum or flavored bourbon.
