The mother of two of L.A. Clippers star Lance Stephenson’s children says she needs a lot more than the $6,000 a month he gives her in child support. According to her, she needs an increase in funds to move her 4-year-old and 1-year-old children out of the rough Brooklyn neighborhood that she’s residing in, and to get childcare so that she can go back to school.

According to Bossip, Feby Torres said in Brooklyn Family Court on Friday that she would like her support doubled to $12,000, testifying that “I would like the court to award me something reasonable, something that fits my children’s needs.” As for what Torres is contributing, she said in court on Friday that she hasn’t found work since she dropped out of school more than a year ago.

Torres claimed that with her current support, she can’t afford to move into a safer area in Brooklyn, and she needs to go after gunshots went off near her 4-year-old daughter’s bedroom.

“The night before yesterday, there was a shooting directly around the corner from my home,” Torres said. “It was fairly close to my home. I could hear it.”

But Torres claimed that when she reached out to Stephenson about a possible increase in support back in September, he said she didn’t need it.

“He told me they didn’t need the amount of money I’m receiving now, and he’ll do anything for them, and he doesn’t want to come to court anymore.”

Stephenson’s lawyer, Laurence Greenberg, who appeared in court without the NBA star, stated that $6,000 is more than enough for Torres and her two babies. He went a step further and said that Torres’s financial records show that she put $4,000 from the child support away in savings and that she’s managed to find enough child care to star in music videos, include rapper 2 Milly’s “Milly Rock” visuals. In the end, Greenberg told the judge that Torres is just searching for a comeup.

“There is money being spent where by there’s no need for additional child support,” Greenberg said. “Ms. Torres makes no financial contributions to the children, has her own personal expenses met…she is enhancing her own personal lifestyle.”

And his client can’t go for that. Stephenson (who is also known by some as the ex-boyfriend of K. Michelle), again, wasn’t present for this hearing, as he resides in L.A. (But Stephenson is from Brooklyn.) But he will have to testify in March when the case goes back to court.

Greenberg stated that Stephenson has no issue paying what he needs to for his kids, but Torres’s lawyer, Daniel Nottes, said, “This is all very nice, but the kids are still living in a place where there’s gun shots.”

So how much child support is enough to support a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old?
