Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are dominating the headlines lately—unfortunately not all of the reasons are good.
Thursday the Philadelphia-born rapper appeared in court regarding a possible probation violation surrounding his travel habits. According to Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Aubrey Whelan, Nicki appeared in court with Meek yesterday and even testified on his behalf.
Whelan tweeted that Minaj told the court that she would help him with his probation, adding that he may be “irresponsible” but he’s working on becoming “a quote-unquote adult.”
“He never purposefully goes against rules,” she told the court. “He absolutely wants to make this a smooth transition,” she told the judge, according to Philly.
The case was adjourned and no decision was made regarding whether or not Meek actually violated his probation. The hearing will resume on Thursday, December 17.
As previously reported, this all stems from 2008 gun and firearm charges. He served eight months behind bars and was sentenced to 5 years’ probation, which began in the fall of 2009.
