This Device Brings Couples In Long Distance Relationships Closer
A 2014 report from the United States Census Bureau revealed that approximately 3.5 million Americans are living apart from their spouses. But there’s a new device that could potentially help these couples to feel closer to one another in spite of the distance.
According to Mashable, the device is called Pillow Talk, and it allows romantic partners to share the sounds of their heartbeats at bedtime using a wristband and speakers. Partners can sync their devices using the Pillow Talk app, which is available for Android and Apple products.
Although the product was originally developed with couples in mind, Pillow Talk can also be used by parents who are frequently away from their children because of work or other obligations that require them to travel.
“There is something special about coming home from a long day and being with your partner. Spending time with people we love feels special even if one of us is reading a book whilst the other is watching television,” developers explain on Pillow Talk’s Kickstarter page. “Until now technology hasn’t been designed help us recreate these special moments. Now you no longer have to message your loved one; you can be there with them.”
Pillow Talk is available for pre-order on Kickstarter until December 8.
