“I Haven’t Spoken To My Mother In Months”: Romeo Miller Says Her Lawsuit Has Damaged Their Relationship

November 25, 2015  |

With Thanksgiving tomorrow, you would hope that families could set aside their differences to come together and break bread. But some rifts are too deep to fix quick, fast and in a hurry. As it often takes years to create them, it can take quite a bit of time to make amends. That’s why instead of happily preparing for the holiday with his loved ones, Romeo Miller was served with papers by his mother and says he hasn’t spoken to her in months.

In case you missed it, Sonya Miller pulled her 26-year-old son into her public divorce from Percy “Master P” Miller. She claims that Percy had been using Romeo to hide assets from her in the hopes that it would look like he wasn’t worth as much money as she thinks. Sonya has said that despite starting No Limit Records with her husband in the ’90s, he created No Limit Forever in 2010 and allegedly named Romeo as the owner and founder. She also claims that for his new show, Master P’s Family Empire, Romeo’s name was placed on payroll documents. All of this, she believes, was done to keep her from getting any money through those ventures.

And despite Master P temporarily being ordered to pay her more than $30,000 a month in support ($16,574 in spousal, $10,473 in child support), she’s still decided to keep Romeo in the middle of the madness. Romeo shared an open letter with fans and followers on Instagram about the whole situation after officially being served by his mother yesterday.

He doesn’t blame her for the move and instead says that it’s the money-hungry people in her ear who are encouraging her to sue her own son. However, Romeo does say that her battles with his father have made communication between him and his mom nonexistent. And that hurts considering that he says everything he’s done has been to make his mom proud:

It’s a shame that the squabbles of parents end up impacting their children. So much so that folks are out here trying to drag their own children into lawsuits. Still, Sonya has said that she isn’t upset with her son, but is only involving him because his father is allegedly using him. What a mess.
