“Please STOP!” Tia Mowry Says People Who Keep Asking If She’s Pregnant Are Body Shaming

November 23, 2015  |

When one isn’t pregnant, there can’t be anything more annoying than to have people constantly ask if you are, inquire about why you aren’t, and ask why you look like it. Just ask Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

Yes, Tia stated earlier this year that she was in a sort of competition with her sister, Tamera, to see who could get pregnant first. And yes, Tamera did get pregnant and give birth since then. But it seems like ever since the actress opened her mouth about babies, her fans and followers have been wondering about when she’ll pop out a second one. And she’s sick and tired of it.

She took to Instagram late last week to let people know that their inquiries were no longer harmless, but rather, a form of body shaming.

“Please please please STOP! It’s starting to become rude and a form of body shaming!!! I am NOT pregnant!!! Stop with the nonsense! If you don’t hear it from me it’s not true!! Again one last time! I AM NOT PREGNANT!!”

You might think Mowry-Hardrict is overreacting, but this is the third time she’s had to address questions about what is and isn’t happening inside of her body this year alone.

Back in February she told Hip Hollywood, “I feel like everybody wants me to be pregnant. I’m like, guys, I’m not pregnant. So we can get myself off of that.”

And in June, she admitted that she had gained a few pounds preparing delicious meals for her cooking show Tia Mowry At HomeWriting this caption under a picture of a pregnancy test that read, “Just fat”:

“FYI. For all the people that think I’m pregnant. I’m NOT just enjoying life and eating and cooking some great food! Thanks again I repeat I AM NOT PREGNANT!”

And now, as we enter the tail end of the year, she’s shutting down pregnancy rumors yet again after fans commented under some of her recent pictures with “Is it me or is she pregnant?” and “Are you prego tia?”

That would make anyone lose their patience with folks.

But what do you think? Is this a form of body shaming?
