Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, 21, has been named Miss Golden Globe 2016 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who made the announcement on Tuesday night at the first party of its Awards Season at the Ysabel in West Hollywood.

The model and actress is also a student at the University of Southern California, and has been her dad’s plus one on red carpets since she was a kid. 2004 Best Actor winner

According to People.com, she’s known about the coveted gig for a few weeks, and her superstar dad, the 2004 Best Actor winner, had a priceless reaction:  “My dad, he’s a little bit emotional. He won’t admit it, but he had tears in his eyes and he was so happy for me to kind of have my own thing now,” she said.

The annual title is traditionally given to the daughter or son of a celebrity, and their responsibility is to assist in handing out the awards on the big night.

“Like her father, [Corinne] leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next,” said Lorenzo Soria, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Past honorees include celebrity off-spring Greer Grammer, Dakota Johnson, Sosie Bacon and Rumer Willis.

Foxx will share the stage with Hollywood’s A-listers – including this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient Denzel Washington – when the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards air on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 8 p.m. ET.

Nominations will be announced on December 10.
