Rihanna Launches Beauty, Styling Agency
Rihanna refuses to be boxed into just one role. After dominating the pop culture genre and even trying her hand at acting, the singer will begin working the behind the scenes of the entertainment industry as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, RiRi recently launched a beauty and styling agency with managing partner Benoit Demouy.
The Los Angeles-based firm is called Fr8me and will assist hair and makeup artists as well as fashion stylists in booking commercial and editorial shoots, ad campaigns and red carpet jobs.
“Hair, makeup and styling play an important role in creativity,” said the 27-year-old. “I am very involved with that part of my process, so this agency was an organic thing for me to do.”
Fr8me has already signed Ri’s longtime makeup artist Mylah Morales, Jason Bolden—who is Taraji P. Henson’s wardrobe stylist, and hairstylists Patricia Morales and Marcia Hamilton.
“We are lucky enough to have some of the best artists at Fr8me,” said Rihanna, “but I also have a soft spot for finding new talent with extraordinary skills!”
Rihanna has also launched a photo agency called Dog Ate My Homework. She has already signed photographers Erik Asla and Deborah Anderson.
“Our goal is to have a stellar reputation,” said Demouy. “The industry’s changed so much — rates have gone down, and clients just grab images off social media, trying to bypass paying artists. But we’re concerned with social media, too — we’ll take a makeup artist with 500,000 followers over someone else.”
