Russell Simmons Announces Fund For RushCard Victims

Russell Simmons is looking to make things right with RushCard customers who were negatively by the company’s transitional glitch that left thousands of customers unable to access funds that were deposited into their accounts.

According to the Associated Press, RushCard is setting up a “multi-million dollar” fund for customers who can prove that they incurred late fees, lost a deposit, were evicted from their homes and suffered other financial setbacks as a result of the glitch.

“This whole situation has been devastating for them, and we want to make sure they are made whole,” Simmons said.

The exact size of the fund is contingent upon the amount of damages incurred as a result of the technological glitch.

“We don’t have a number yet because it really is whatever it takes to make good with our customers,” said Simmons.

So far, it has not been announced when this fund will be implemented, or how they expect customers to prove that they were affected.
