These celebrities decided not to untie the knot, and you might be surprised at the reasons why. Should they stay together or should they go their separate ways?

Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom

Looks like Lamar Odom will be getting a second chance at life and love. Odom’s recent health scare seems to have given Khloé Kardashian a serious change of heart about ending things.

Just days after Odom slipped into a coma from an apparent overdose, Kardashian asked her lawyer to withdraw their divorce papers.

Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant

In 2011 — eight years after Kobe Bryant was accused and cleared of charges of sexual assault on a 19-year-old — Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce from her husband and rumors swirled that it was because he had cheated again.

But in 2013, Vanessa announced that the two had decided to stay together. Why? Kobe made a serious amends for past behavior.

Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus

Miley Cyrus’s parents have nearly split twice. Her mom, Tish, filed for divorce in 2010 and Billy Ray filed in 2013. But both times, the Cyrus’s decided to seek help in couples therapy to work on their issues. They have been together more than 20 years and have five kids.

Big Boi and Sherlita Patton

Big Boi told TMZ that Jesus (a.k.a., prayer) helped him reconcile with his wife Sherlita Patton after she filed for divorce in 2013.

Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Quaid

After eight years of marriage, Kimberly Quaid filed for divorce from Dennis in 2012. But two months later, Kimberly withdrew her petition. A source close to the couple told E! News, “They have an explosive relationship but they do love each other. They are rethinking the divorce and seeing if they can actually make it work. It’s been a difficult path for both of them, but they don’t want to make a mistake and divorce.”

They have since worked things out and their divorce petition was thrown out in 2013.

Sean Penn and Robin Wright

Sean Penn and Robin Wright filed for divorce once in 2007, and twice in 2009. A month after their first 2009 split, Penn abandoned two movie projects to work on his marriage, calling the separation an “arrogant mistake.”

But later that year, Wright filed for divorce again saying that the Penns were done for good. “There’s no limbo anymore. There’s no time. I’m too old for this s–t.” Their divorce was finalized later that year.

Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon

Sometimes two people just can’t make it work no matter how much they want to. Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon got married in 2007 and filed for an annulment the same year.

Then they remarried in 2014, filed for divorce six months later, petitioned to have it thrown out after that and then eventually divorced for real, for real in April of 2015.

We’ll keep you posted if they get back together again.

Slash and Perla Ferrar

Sometimes the reason for a celebrity patch-up is simple. “They reconciled,” was what this couple’s representative told E! News when they chose to work things out after announcing their divorce in 2010.

Unfortunately, the reconciliation didn’t work out. Slash filed for divorce in 2014. And this time it looks like things might get ugly because she wants half of the money he made while they were married (dating back to 2001).

Larry King and Shawn King

Personal turmoil brought this couple back together. Larry King filed for divorce from his seventh wife in 2010. But a few months later, Shawn was hospitalized for a suicide attempt and both parties decided to work it out.

Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus

Despite filing for divorce from his high-school sweetheart in 2004, the rapper had a major change of heart.

“I fell back in love with my wife and kids. A lot of times you get cloudy. This music industry is a mother, man, and it’ll take your vision and blur it.”

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman

When these two actors announced their divorce after 30 years in 2012, fans of this longtime couple said, “Say it ain’t so.”

Apparently, the split didn’t sit well with Danny DeVito either. The It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star wooed his wife and that apparently did the trick. The two are still together and working things out.

Chynna Phillips and Billy Baldwin

Chynna Phillips said that stress made her serve Billy Baldwin with divorce papers in 2010. But it only took her a matter of days to ask her lawyers to withdraw the papers. “I was like, ‘What am I doing? This is my family, I have to fight for it,’” she told People.

The two went to counseling and have been going strong ever since.

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler

Not all reconciliations brought on by near tragedies last forever. Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler had already filed for divorce when Barker was seriously injured in a private plane crash that killed four others on board in 2008.

Unfortunately, their conciliation didn’t stick. Barker and Moakler ended up getting divorced later that year.

Balthazar and Rosetta Getty

Rosetta Getty separated from her husband in 2008 after Balthazar had a fairly public affair with actress Sienna Miller.

But Rosetta withdrew her divorce papers for the kids. She told Harper’s Bazaar, “I’m going to have to explain this to my daughters one day. I chose not to act from ego because I just felt like it would be too crushing for my children.”

Balthazar added, “I loved and missed my family too much not to make it work. Rosetta is understanding enough and spiritual enough to let us try. In a way it–I don’t know…I feel like we’re better than we’ve ever been.”
