If you’ve been looking closely you may have noticed Shonda Rhimes has been looking slim and trim these days.

And while many of us have noticed the weight loss, you might not have been aware of how much she actually lost.

Well, in a recent interview with EXTRA, Shonda explained that she’s lost 117 pounds.

There’s no secret to the slim down. Shonda just decided to get healthy. And she did it the old fashioned way through diet and exercise.

She explained her motivation: “I just decided I was gonna get it together and get healthy; I have some little kids and I want to be around for them.”

And she also had to change her mentality.

“Once I decided it wasn’t gonna be fun, like I lowered my expectations; it got kind of easier.”

Way to go, Shonda!
