Miko Grimes, the wife of Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, was arrested Sunday following an altercation with police.
According to the New York Daily News, the incident occurred at Sun Life Stadium just before the Dolphins’ match against the Bills. Details surrounding Grimes’ arrest still appear a bit sketchy at this time, but cops say that the she ignored several requests ordering her to leave a restricted area and walked into vehicular traffic.
The incident quickly escalated, and officers reportedly subdued 40-year-old Grimes by placing her in a bear hug and bringing her down to the ground.
Cell phone footage captured Grimes’ arrest, but so far, there has been no footage of the events that led to her arrest. Reporters over at the Associated Press say that she was both belligerent and aggressive during the altercation, going as far as to charge at one of the officers prior to the takedown. It has also been alleged that once back on her feet, Grimes attempted to headbutt an officer.
Grimes has been charged with disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. She works as a host for South Florida sports radio station 560-WQAM. She has yet to comment directly on the situation. However, according to the Sun Sentinel, when asked by one reporter how she was doing after the incident, she replied:
“None of your f—— business. Don’t call my phone again.”
Neither her husband nor the Miami Dolphins organization has commented on the situation.
