A forthcoming documentary from filmmaker and activist Jason Pollock aims to shed light on what really happened when unarmed teenager Michael Brown was killed in August of 2014.
The project titled The Ferguson Cover-Up has been approved by Brown’s mother, Lesly McSpadden, and will feature exclusive interviews from the late teen’s relatives. Pollock has joined forces with several activists who have been following “every detail” of the case. Together, Pollock says that they will present evidence that proves Brown’s murder was covered up by officials in Ferguson.
“With the one-year anniversary of my son’s death just past, now more than ever is the time to push back on the current public narrative that has been created,” Michael Brown Sr. in a statement. “Michael was a good boy and a moral person. More people need to know the truth about his death. We look forward to Mr. Pollock’s film bringing light to the beautiful person that our son was.”
Pollock promises that the project “will blow the roof off the current narrative which America and the globe have been fed around Ferguson. People need to get the truth about this international story, and this film will be the counter-narrative that everyone needs to hear.”
