City Adds Twitter, Facebook Services
(Wall Street Journal) — New York City is forming new partnerships with a handful of social-media companies, including Facebook and Twitter, to better keep up with the city’s increasingly tech-savvy residents, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday. At City Hall, the mayor and the city’s first chief digital officer, Rachel Sterne, released a report outlining how New York City government can improve its use of digital media. In the next three months, the city plans to unveil partnerships with Facebook, Twitter, check-in service Foursquare and Tumblr, a blogging platform. These partnerships don’t involve an exchange of money, Ms. Sterne said.
