You Are Not The Father: Celebrity Paternity Scandals We Still Can’t Believe
So Chris Brown is headed to court for a second paternity test as he gears up for a custody and child support battle. And while that situation is full of drama, it’s not the craziest celebrity paternity scandal we’ve read about. From stars who didn’t know who the father of their child was, to secret love children, these are the Maury-worthy paternity scandals that rocked Hollywood.
The former supermodel was a hot, entertaining mess long before she was on America’s Next Top Model. Back in 1994, she made it into the tabloids when she announced that Sylvester Stallone was the father of her child. Stallone tried to do right by Dickinson. He dumped his other model girlfriend Jennifer Flavin and prepared to settle down with Dickinson. But a DNA test proved that Stallone was not the father. The actor reunited with Flavin, and they tied the knot in 1997.
Almost 15 years after the Clinton presidency and suddenly people are asking: Is Chelsea Bill’s real daughter? According to tabloids, one of the Clintons’ former associates Webster Hubbell is Chelsea’s dad. Now a reporter claims to have Chelsea’s DNA and a truth bomb to release during Hillary’s run for president. #Scandal.
First, Eddie Murphy broke up with Spice Girl Mel B while she was pregnant. Then he sought out a paternity test to prove her daughter was his. After the results had proved he was the father, tabloids said Murphy claimed he was tricked into having the baby and was refusing to see her until she was 18 so he could “parent” without “interference.”
The paternity test that proved Mathew Knowles had a child while still married to Tina was the biggest scandal to rock the Knowles empire — until four years later when Matthew was hit with another paternity suit. This time from a former lingerie model who proved he was the father of yet another child.
This story started off as poor Gabrielle Union having to deal with groupies claiming to have had Dwyane Wade’s baby to break them up. Then a preliminary DNA test proved that at least one of those women had a legitimate claim. Union and Wade said it wasn’t as bad as it all sounded because he had the child while they were on a break. And despite all that drama, the couple wed in 2014.
Even Michael Jackson fanatics were scratching their heads when Jackson revealed his very fair children, Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket, to the world. But now that the kids are almost grown, one man — British actor Mark Lester — tried to claim that he provided the sperm for Jackson’s son Prince and daughter Paris. As did Jackson’s former dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein. But until everyone agrees to a DNA test, this one will remain a Hollywood mystery.
After a man who met Kourtney Kardashian had claimed he was Mason Disick’s father, not Scott, Kardashian decided to have a paternity test done. She shared the results in 2013 to put an end to the man’s lies: “I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason’s father. While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies–especially when the truth was never in doubt–this story must be put to rest.”
Anna Nicole Smith
So many people came forward to claim paternity of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn after her death that it was almost a blessing that the model and actress wasn’t around to deal with the media firestorm. Among the people were Smith’s lawyer and partner, Howard K. Stern, her ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, and even Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt. Thankfully this mess was sorted out just a few months after Smith’s death when DNA tests proved Birkhead to be little Dannielynn’s daddy.
Jude Law’s affair with his kids’ nanny was quite the scandal. Just when it seemed like the dust was settling and poor Sienna Miller was picking up the tabloid-tattered pieces of her relationship with the actor, the nanny, Samantha Burke, announced that she had Law’s baby. He denied that the baby was his, but a paternity test proved him wrong.
Not only did the late Apple mogul deny that he was the father of his high school girlfriend’s daughter, but he also swore in court that there was no way that he could be the father. Why? Because he was “sterile and infertile.” But a paternity test revealed that Jobs was the father. After still putting up a fight despite the results, Jobs eventually had a change of heart and apologized for denying his daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs.
Actress Liv Tyler discovered her own paternity scandal. She realized she looked a lot more like famous Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and his daughter, Mia, than the man her mother said was her father, rocker Todd Rundgren. When she confronted her mother about the similarities, the woman fessed up, no DNA test necessary. Liv and Steven have since formed quite the close bond.
Keiotia Brown sued Lil’ Wayne twice to get child support for her son, Dwyane Keyshawn Brown. Once while the rapper was away in Rikers Island and again last year. But after more than five years of waiting for the courts to force the rapper to take a DNA test, she suddenly dropped the suit. We can all assume that means “My bad, I found my child’s real father. Sorry to bother you!”
This is just one hot mess. Nia Guzman-Amey was still married and also had a boyfriend named King Ba who raised her daughter Royalty for 10 months before she dropped a bombshell on everyone. The bombshell? Chris Brown was actually the baby’s father. Now, months after the proud poppa started parading his daughter around on the red carpet, Brown has ordered a second DNA test. He wants to fight the $15,000 a month in child support that Guzman wants.
Back in 2013, Michael Jordan had a paternity scandal to deal with after a woman named Laquetta Theus posted this right on the legend’s Facebook page:
“Michael Jordan, when are you going to support your 2-year-old daughter? You drop 10 million on your nice wedding. That was nice but don’t you think it time that you support your daughter?”
For months, the rumor mill swirled with paternity rumors. But Jordan calmly responded with the results of a paternity test that made it very clear he was not the baby’s father. Case. Closed. Another woman, Pamela Smith, was fined for filing a false paternity suit against Jordan in 2013. When will these women learn?
