Two Killed At Drake’s OVO Fest After-Party
Two people were killed, and at least three others were left wounded following a series of shootings inside and around Drake’s OVO Fest after-party, CP24 reports.
Shots rang out inside of the club at approximately 3:30 am Tuesday at Canada’s Muzik nightclub. The shooting later spilled into the streets. Toronto police Insp. Frank Bergen revealed that one man was found dead inside of the club, while a woman was pronounced dead upon her arrival at a local hospital. Police suspect that there may have been more than one gunman.
“This is not the Toronto we know. It is not the Toronto that has been a welcoming safe host for hundreds of thousands already this summer right up to and including this weekend,” said Toronto Mayor John Tory. “I am very confident our Toronto Police Service will track down those responsible for this despicable act and ensure they are put away for a long time.”
Authorities believe as many as 4,000 people attended the after-party celebration.
“Obviously we have a brazen set of individuals willing to use firearms in crowded places,” said Sloly.
It is not clear if Drake was present during the time of the shooting.
