From Pharrell To 50: What Your Favorites Black Stars Look Like As Simpsons Characters
I know I’m not the only die-hard Simpsons fan out there. And while I haven’t been able to keep up with newer episodes, I can say with confidence that I know I’ve seen a majority of the seasons in full. Throughout the show’s 26 seasons, there have been many guest appearances. Here are examples of the few hilarious times Black stars were turned into beloved Simpsons characters.
We’re used to seeing the ATL rapper like this…
But seeing him as a Simpson character was pretty awesome. He appeared in episode 400 from season 18: “You Kent Always Say What You Want.”
50 has had his fair share of acting roles…
But playing himself in season 16’s “Pranksta Rap” episode stands out from all the rest!
The Godfather of Soul definitely was a colorful character.
But he was an actual colorful character in season 5’s “Bart’s Inner Child” episode.
Could Eartha Kitt have been any more animated?
Why, yes, yes she could:
With his Smokey Bear hat on, this is what we’re used to seeing Pharrell Williams look like:
And this is what he looks like Simpsonized:
Not only does the Oscar winner look fantastic in everyday life (even whens she’s in tears)…
But she’s a damn good looking Simpsons character too!
The beloved weatherman was Simpsonized for season 24’s “Moonshine River” episode.
Does his character look just like him? At least the glasses are on point!
The basketball legend did battle with Homer in season 22’s “Love is a Many Strangled Thing.”
And his character was pretty spot-on. Am I right?
But Kareem isn’t the only NBA star to get Simpsonized…
There was Kobe…
Then there was MJ…
What do you think of his character?
They could never forget about Magic Johnson!
Shout out to a young Magic and the Laker girls!
And then there was LeBron…
Not going to lie…they were a little lazy with the illustration on this one. But I guess the mustache is about right.
The Simpsons showed love to the Star Trek legend during season 15’s “Simple Simpson” episode.
Spot on or what?!
You would think it would be impossible to transfer the incomparable coolness of Lenny Kravitz to his Simpsons character.
But it totally worked!
Venus and Serena Williams
A younger Venus and Serena were given the Simpsons treatment.
Illustrators took us back to the braids and beads days of their careers.
The late sitcom star was given the Simpsons treatment quite a few times.
And each time his character definitely stood out. Love it!
