Keep It Simple Or Go All Out?
Before the proposal, I was told by a colleague who is getting married to “keep it simple.” Prepping for a wedding in New Orleans, she divulged that a lot of money was spent on things she now isn’t so crazy about, including flowers in the thousands. “If you’re trying to buy a home or something like that, I would recommend that you put a lot of money towards something like that, not for something that’s going to last one day.” But after talking with my fiancé about keeping things small and simple, we weren’t necessarily on the same page. You know we Nigerians don’t do “small” when it comes to weddings. And I’m the baby of the family? Keeping it small may be hard to do after all.
