Mommynoire: How did you get to where you are now in your life and career?
Ellen Ector: One day I announced to my family I was quitting my job and opening up a Fitness Studio. Some of my children looked at me in disbelief. But at that point, I was so frustrated with my career, that I didn’t care what any of them felt. Faith would over power any of my fears. I was 55 years-old and I knew I was passionate about my dream and goals to make this fitness career full time.
Mommynoire: What were some of the challenges and triumphs that you encountered?
Ellen Ector: This mission was challenging but I knew I had that special something that would attract women to my gym. They needed a person that they could relate to and someone with a different flair when it came to working out. My daughter and I would practice daily on our fitness routines to make sure we offer the best workouts that were also fun. Plus our personalities combined together made the puzzle fit.
Mommynoire: What’s the best advice you’ve been given through the years?
Ellen Ector: “Have the courage to live a life true to yourself and not what others expect of you,” is the best advice that was given to me by my employer at 16 year of age. This has always stuck in my mind throughout the years.
Mommynoire: What advice do you like to give to women that are looking to craft a career they love?
Ellen Ector: Keeping healthy positive relationships with family and friends is very important! This keeps you happier in life and continue to surround yourself with people that are succeeding . Take a risk! it’s alright to fail because there is a lesson in failure . Conquer your fears and you will succeed. Ask yourself where do you see your self in 5 years. I plan on being on a yacht at sea and telling my self great job because you will always regret what you didn’t do rather than what you did!
